Old... well not really, but it feels like forever. I started out as a young newspaper production assistant before I went into advertising. In my spare time, I studied I.T but the lure of what I thought was the glamorous world of advertising drew me away so that my entire focus was advertising and marketing. I studied copywriters, design and how they sold products. 

 

Soon I moved into a major newspaper group running a few of their state divisions before being lured across into the even more exciting (so I thought) world of advertising agencies. I ended up running a large Adelaide agency learning everything from copywriting, media placement and planning, and working with clients. After around 15 years of agency life, I got offered the role of marketing manager for a retail group... just as the global financial crisis hit. Lucky me. But we survived and I learned how to run a marketing department on the smell of an oily rag. I got into social media from the beginning and also into online publishing - where my love of magazines grew along with the success of our titles. Today I publish 4 digital magazines, run an online pop culture site selling everything from games, to collectable weapons. 

 

Somewhere along the line, I got asked to run the marketing for an amazing school, which I do a couple of days a week. Add to that a bunch of social media projects where I run around a dozen pages across Facebook and Instagram,  and I'm busy... but I think I could squeeze in one day -
